1-inch (25 mm) M6 Marine Component Tweeters, Gloss White Mounting Cups, Gray Metallic Trim Ring, Black Tweeter Mesh, Pair

The standalone, M6 component tweeters are built with a 1-inch (25 mm) silk dome diaphragm to deliver high output, wide dispersion and sparkling high-frequency detail. The tweeters can be flush-mounted or surface-mounted with the supplied fixtures. You can also choose between the included “Classic” and “Sport” badge trim rings to complete your look.

The component tweeters come with outboard, 3rd order, high-pass filters optimized for superior output and high-frequency detail. An automatic, solid-state circuit is also onboard to monitor current and minimize the possibility of tweeter failure. Like all M6 models, the component tweeters are built to withstand real-world saltwater conditions with an unsurpassed level of fidelity.

Silk Dome Tweeter

Light, fast moving silk dome material promotes high-frequency accuracy.

Detailed Information:
Silk is a natural material with inherently good characteristics as a tweeter diaphragm. In addition to being very light in weight, silk exhibits excellent damping properties, which reduces ringing and resonances in the tweeter’s passband, leading to a smooth, pleasing high-frequency character free from unnatural sibilance or exaggerated brightness. Compared to a harder material dome, a silk tweeter does not exhibit as much ultra-high frequency extension, but is preferred by many audiophiles for its overall balance.

To this end, JL Audio has invested in Ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure) and Salt Fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments). This testing is critical to building products that will not only sound great in your boat, but will also sound great for many, many years.

injection-molded mica-filled polypropylene cone bodies with synthetic rubber surrounds, specifically formulated with UV inhibitors for marine duty.
Marine-grade, synthetic fiber spiders with progressive roll designs to withstand high humidity.
Specifically engineered polymer baskets are corrosion and UV-resistant and encapsulate the woofer's motor system to prevent corrosion.
Gold-plated, marine-grade brass connection terminals
Marine-grade stainless steel mounting hardware is included.
